Polishing tools for tungsten carbide coated corrugated rolls

specials

We know about the special problems of polishing this very hard coating and so we developed special tools for this problem.

A specific problem appears especially if you have to polish tungsten carbide coatings on a corrugated roll considering the special form of the surface.
For this special purpose we have developed special tools for polishing tungsten carbide coated corrugated rolls to an all over surface roughness of Ra <0.2
µm and if requested even better.

We have improved this process together with the tools to keep the specified flute shape and receive a surface roughness down to Ra 0.2
µm and better whereas inlet, run-out, and slots are not rounding off.

We would like to point out that the surface roughness is totally uniform by enclosing the whole profile (tips, flanks, and troughs) at once. This is the eminent advantage of this process together with the required geometry of the flutes as well as of the roll itself.
This process is usable for ALL
flute sizes.

Another advantage is the very short working time of this process. Only 1 operation step achieves the surface roughness of Ra <0.2
µm at the whole surface of tips, flanks, and troughs.

This surface quality created with our process causes a longer lifetime of the roll and prevents the phenomenon of paper fracturing.

We offer a perfect and approved polishing system for this purpose.
